Some websites that are produced by Sunset Solutions
contain JavaScript and on several occasions worried clients have passed
on comments made by "appraisers" of their site who have expressed their concerns
about the use of JavaScript.
JavaScript is a scripting language most often used for
client-side web development. It was developed by The Netscape Corporation
which is now Mozilla but has been adopted and used in a majority of web
browsers including Internet Explorer.
The concern is that visitors to websites may have
JavaScript disabled which means that the menu structure or dynamic content
of the page will not work, this could also be applied to Macromedia Flash
content. The reason for disabling JavaScript is security, however these
issues have been addressed, this doesn't mean there isn't someone out
there right now writing some nasty virus, worm or trojan but that payload
could be delivered to your computer by many different methods.
